How to play

How to play Glimworm

  1. 1. Create a room and pick a mode

Choose Battle Royale, Time Attack, or Lives + Heats. Invite friends with a shareable link, or fill empty seats with AI bots and start solo.

  2. 2. Slither into the arena

Your glowing worm spawns at a random spot. Move with the mouse or touch and start eating lights — every light makes your worm a little longer and a little brighter.

  3. 3. Avoid other worms’ trails

Colliding head-first with another worm’s trail ends your run. Cut across smaller worms when you can, but never charge a longer trail head-on.

  4. 4. Outlast everyone

In Battle Royale, the last worm alive wins. In Time Attack, the highest-scoring worm at the buzzer wins. Either way, staying alive while growing is the whole job.

About the game

About Glimworm

Glimworm draws on the lineage of arcade snake — Nokia’s tiny mobile classic, the late-2010s slither.io browser craze, and the agar.io school of physics-friendly arenas. The core loop is unchanged: collect food to grow, avoid colliding with another worm’s trail, and stay alive longer than everyone else. Glimworm’s twist is the dark, neon arena where every worm radiates its own light and trails leave a fading glow.

The game ships with three modes. Battle Royale shrinks the arena as the round progresses, forcing confrontations until one worm remains. Time Attack puts everyone on a 90-second high-score clock with no permanent elimination — perfect for casual sessions. Lives + Heats hands each player three lives and runs multiple heats before crowning a champion.

On Arcadeum, Glimworm runs entirely in your browser — no download, no install, no signup wall. You can create a private room and share a link, drop into a public quick-play match, or fill empty seats with AI bots to start a session even when nobody else is around. Rounds typically last about five minutes, which makes Glimworm a great between-meetings game.
